Live Plant Sales, Shipping & Live Arrival Guarantee Policy
Maryland Tropical Plants is a licensed Maryland nursery. We are dedicated to responsible plants care and ethical selling practices. We take pride in providing healthy, high-quality tropical plants and transparent communication. Please review our policies carefully before purchasing. Placing an order confirms acceptance of the terms below.
Live Sales, Purges & Website Orders
• All items sold are live plants. Natural variations in size, shape, and color are normal.
• Plants sold during live sales or purges are the exact plants shown, unless otherwise stated.
• Website listings may show representative photos; individual plants will vary.
• Once a plant is claimed or purchased, all sales are final.
Payment Policy
• Payment is required within 24 hours of invoice unless otherwise stated.
• Unpaid claims may be released without notice.
• Repeated non-payment may result in removal from future live sales.
Refunds & Returns
Due to the perishable nature of live plants:
• All sales are final- no returns or exchanges are accepted.
• Refunds or credits are only issued for approved Dead on Arrival (DOA) or lost packages, per the conditions outlined below.
Shipping & Live Arrival Guarantee
To qualify for a Live Arrival Guarantee, customers must select:
• Next Day Air or 2-Day Air shipping
• Winter protection (insulation + heat pack) when temperatures are 45°F or below
Please note that standard shipping does NOT qualify for live arrival coverage.
Winter Shipping Policy
• Winter shipping is always at the buyer’s risk.
• If winter protection is not selected, no live arrival guarantee applies.
• Live plants are perishable, and collectors are responsible for protecting their purchase.
• We reserve the right to delay or hold shipments during extreme weather conditions to ensure plant safety.
Dead on Arrival (DOA) Policy
If a plant arrives dead, you must contact us within 2 hours of delivery. A continuous unboxing video must be provided within the same 2-hour window. Still photos alone are not sufficient for DOA claims. The video must clearly show:
• The unopened package
• The full unboxing process
• The plant condition
• The shipping label
Approved DOA claims may receive:
• A replacement (if available)
• Store credit (preferred)
• A refund of the plant price only (shipping is non-refundable)
Lost Packages
If a package is confirmed lost by the carried, we will offer a replacement if available, store credit or a refund of the cost of the plant. Shipping is non-refundable. Please note that packaged marked as delivered by the carrier are not eligible for refunds or credits.
Shipping Stress & Acclimation
Shipping and acclimation stress may occur and can include leaf drop or cosmetic damage. This is normal and not considered DOA. We are always happy to provide care guidance after delivery.

Customers are responsible for researching plant toxicity for pets and children. Please ask prior to purchase if this is a concern, we are more than happy to answer any questions you may have!
